Jeremy Carr*

Jeremy is the founder of Steele Law (formerly Jeremy Carr & Associates). His areas of practice and expertise include impaired driving defenses, criminal law and plaintiff  personal injury claims.

Practice:

Jeremy’s practice covers all of BC, and he has successfully represented clients in all levels of court. He is passionate about protecting civil liberties and Charter rights and helping his clients avoid criminal records and time in jail.

Background:

Jeremy was called to the British Columbia Bar after graduating from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. Prior to law school he earned an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Alberta. In 1983, Jeremy began his own law practice in Victoria, B.C. Today, clients continue to be drawn to Steele Law because of the firm’s experience, reputation, and tradition of excellence.

In October 2012, Jeremy received the Contribution to the Law Award. This award is presented annually to a member of the Victoria Bar who has made a significant contribution to the development of a legal issue, and whose involvement has reflected positively on the legal profession. Jeremy received this award in recognition of his lead role in the successful challenge of the former Immediate Roadside Prohibition Regime, which was found to be in violation of the Charter and declared unconstitutional by the B.C. Supreme Court.
